Plants of stock 1-133, F1, are wild type for, anthocyaninless, anl/ANL, rosette, ROS/ros, male sterile, mst2/MST2, and in a genetic background for high expression of purple anthocyanin, Pan (6/8). Seed color is yellow, anl/anl.

Stock 1-133, F1, is from the cross of stock 1-107 as the maternal parent expressing Anl, Hir (1), with stock 1-131 as the paternal parent expressing, Ros, Pan (8), Hir (5). Sib mating 1-133 produces stock, 1-137, exhibiting F2 segregation patterns for Anl, Ros and Mst2 in a genetic background for high Pan expression, Pan (6/8).

Stock 1-133 can also be used for the studies combining the inheritance patterns of the quantitatively variable traits, hair number, Hir, and intensity of purple anthocyanin, Pan, while following the inheritance patterns of the discrete traits, Anl, Ros and Mst2.

Rosette plants exhibit extreme shortening of internodes with leaves pressed close to the soil. The hypocotyl is shortened and cotyledon emergence may be delayed by 1-2 days. Leaves are a darker green hue than standard. Leaf development and flowering are delayed by a few days. Seed pods are shortened. Rosette plants produce less gibberelin than standard. Application of gibberelin to leaves or soil results in elongated growth and reduced anthocyanin expression
